The session conveyed the experience of restoring the glories of Al-Aqar neighbourhood, the progress of the mast rope factory, and the IJTIMAATI mobile application.
The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority organized the third evening of the Riyada Talk evenings at the Washar Exhibition in the Wilyat of Sur. The owner of the mast rope factory, Mohammed bin Salem Al-Mukhaini participated in the evening along with Maryam bint Hamad Al Rasbiyah, co-founder and CEO of the Modern Technological Creativity Company (Bviser), and Suleiman bin Muhammad Al Sulaymani, owner of the Al Bustan Inn, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bawareq Al Ahlia Company.
Media presenter Rashid Al-Saadi, opened the session highlighting the objectives of the Riyada Talk sessions which are to explore the various challenges and opportunities that entrepreneurs encounter and provide a space for the exchange of ideas between officials, young people, and those with inspiring ideas.
Furthermore, this session which had Her Excellency Halima bint Rashid Al Zaria, Chairperson of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority present, discussed inspiring pioneering experiences in the field of governance applications for meetings of members of boards of directors and of companies and institutions.
Maryam Al Rasbiyah spoke about the importance of supporting Omani mobile applications as there are a number of them that can compete regionally and globally. Al Rasbiyah also adds that a greater focus is put on artificial intelligence applications and stressed how supporting Omani applications has helped her expand and grow.
Moreover, Muhammad Al-Mukhaini, owner of a Mast Rope Factory, spoke about his beginnings and what led him to establish his factory. He discussed the materials used in manufacturing ropes and the stages of delivering them to suppliers. Al-Mukhaini also touched on the challenges he overcame during the pandemic.
Suleiman Al-Sulaimani reviewed the experience of the Bawareq National Company in restoring the glories of Al-Aqar neighborhood and the possibility of transferring the experience to other governorates. He stressed the readiness of the Bawariq National Company in the state of Nizwa and the youth to transfer the experience of Harat Al-Aqar in a way that suits the nature of each region. As well as the possibility of hosting Omani youth from the South Al-Sharqiyah Governorate and from any governorate to benefit from the experience in Haret Al-Aqr.
Abdullah Al-Mukhaini, Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Administration in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, explained that these sessions confirm the Authority’s consolidating approach in communicating and listening to the challenges facing entrepreneurs by sharing inspiring entrepreneurial stories and experiences.
The Authority had previously held two other Riyada Talks during the holy month of Ramadan. The first evening reviewed experiences in the field of specialty coffee, while the second evening reviewed inspiring entrepreneurial stories from different generations in Al-Aqr neighbourhood in the Wilayat of Nizwa in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate.
